Special thanks to Ms. Gail Kellersberger for her invaluable help
Most people are unaware that a powerful anti-cancer medicine was discovered
during the 1960's by Prodan Hristov. Hristov, a Bulgarian who studied
medicine and later biochemistry in Vienna, named this medicine
Antimalignocyte and has seen it work in numerous cases over the years. This
article summarizes his discovery and the history and effectiveness of
Antimalignocyte. While doing his preliminary research, Mr. Hristov realized
that the causes for the transformation of a healthy cell into a cancerous
one can be different, yet the damage always occurs in the genetic material.
Considering his knowledge of the morphology of the cancerous cells and his
background as an herbalist, Mr. Hristov was convinced that different types
of tumors could be cured with the same medicine. Moreover, he believed that
if the medicine was of natural origin (made out of herbs), it could destroy
cancerous cells without damaging the healthy ones. His subsequent research
resulted in Antimalignocyte (CH23). The active substance of the medicine
was extracted from two herbs, Paeonia officinalis and Verbascum
thapsiforme.
Laboratory tests
Prodan Hristov states that his knowledge of herbs and their usage for
treatment came from his homeland Bulgaria. He grew up in a village where he
gathered herbs during the summer for the needs of the family. Also, from
the elderly in the village, he learned about the healing properties of
herbs. Before he went to Vienna, Prodan Hristov completed a specialized
herbal course in Sofia, Bulgaria. He was well aware that the herbal
substances that can be used in the treatment of tumors are various, each
with different chemical and structural composition. In order to find out
the correct substances and dosage for his new medicine, Prodan Hristov
started conducting experiments with animals. He used laboratory rats with
implanted tumors from the Oncology Institute in Vienna. After two week
trials with different herbal substances, Mr. Hristov performed dissections
of the control and treated groups of animals to compare the sizes of the
tumors. For each trial he kept records to determine variations and possible
positive results. After months of hard work, on December 31, 1959, having
finished a trial with a particular herbal concoction and dosage, Prodan
Hristov found that in some rats the tumors were completely vanished,
whereas in others, where the tumors were still present, they were all
necrotized. Mr. Hristov continued the trials with the substance that gave
such positive effects to make sure that the good results were not
incidental. Each time the newly discovered substance gave a 100% positive
effect on the destruction of tumors.
Prodan Hristov got a certificate of non-toxicity for his medicine from the
Institute of Experimental Pathology, which gave him the right to test his
medicine on cancerous patients.
In April 1961 Prodan Hristov published detailed reports about his
laboratory tests in a medical journal in Germany.
Clinical tests
Prodan Hristov started serious clinical trials in 1961 with the help of Dr.
Erich Berga. At the start of the testing project they had 30 cancer
patients who were in the last phase of the illness. These patients had
undergone surgery and chemotherapy and were now facing death as there were
no additional protocols available to stop or slow the process of their
disease. The clinical trials began and soon many of these patients were
released from the hospital healthy after the treatment with Mr. Hristov's
medicine. Reports and statistical data regarding the treatment of these
patients were documented by Dr. Berga and are available.
Soon the number of test cases increased as people began hearing about the
positive results. The results from the treatment with the medicine were
phenomenal - the tumors were either necrotized or completely destroyed.
However, these clinical trials revealed an important fact about the
treatment with Antimalignocyte: the medicine causes the tumors to decompose
completely releasing a lot of toxins into the body. Thus, if the patient
has a healthy immune system (usually present in someone at the beginning of
the disease), the body is able to overcome the damage from the tumor's
toxins on its own. However, if the patient's immune system is undermined by
a prolonged illness or chemotherapy, it is better first to remove the big
tumors surgically and then treat the small remainders from the tumors with
Antimalignocyte to achieve complete recovery.
In 1965 in Munich, Dr. Berga attended a cancer disease congress where he
read a paper on the results he achieved treating patients with
Antimalignocyte. He stated that "the discovery of Antimalignocyte is
comparable to the discovery of Penicillin". One of the attending doctors,
Joseph Issels, immediately expressed interest in the medicine. Dr. Issels
invited Mr. Hristov and Dr. Berga to work in his clinic for cancer
diseases. Dr. Issels kept detailed documentation about the treatments with
Antimalignocyte. The statistics showed that for two years, the medicine was
used to treat 1053 patients and in 82% of the cases the results were
positive.
In 1967, Mr. Hristov was able to open a private clinic for cancer treatment
in Germany. For a little more than a year, 600 patients were treated with
Antimalignocyte. However, due to bureaucratic problems with his medical
staff and local authorities, the clinic was closed down. Even though the
patients and their relatives gave demonstrations in support of the clinic
and of Prodan Hristov, the authorities did not reopen the clinic.
Antimalignocyte has been used in clinics in Austria and Germany to cure
patients from Europe, Canada, USA, and Australia. Unfortunately, even
though Mr. Hristov has had great support from colleagues and the public in
Germany and Bulgaria, he has not been able to register Antimalignocyte
either in Austria or in Bulgaria. The reasons are numerous, ranging from
professional envy to an indifferent bureaucracy.
Attempts to legalize Antimalignocite
Mr. Hristov made his first attempt to legalize Antimalignocyte in Vienna in
1969. For six years the Ministry of Public Health sent Prodan Hristov
letters asking for more and more information about the medicine. Finally,
they asked about the complete technology for producing Antimalignocyte even
though, according to Austrian law for registration of new medicine, the
inventor is supposed to present only the composition of the medication,
never the technology. The Ministry of Health admitted that Antimalignocyte
was a good medicine that cured cancer, but unless Mr. Hristov delivered the
technology, the medicine was not to be registered. Prodan Hristov declined
their proposition.
Through the following years Prodan Hristov has made several attempts to
legalize Antimalignocyte in Bulgaria. The attempts were unsuccessful due to
political changes and bureaucracy. Currently, the association
"Antimalignocyte" is working hard to help Mr. Hristov register his cancer
medicine.
About cancer
Prodan Hristov notes that this disease has been known to people since
ancient times, yet the incidence of cancer has become massive over the last
50 years. During the 20th century and continuing into the 21st, scientists
have been able to achieve great knowledge and experience with the help of
technology, especially in the areas of biology, chemistry and pharmacology.
Yet, it is hard to believe that despite the enormous amount of money and
effort dedicated to solve this problem, there is not an official cure for
cancer.
To illustrate, Mr. Hristov states that Germany is known as the third power
in the world for cancer disease research. A lot of universities, clinics,
pharmacological institutions, the Max Plank Institute and other
organizations have been financially engaged to support the research for a
cancer cure. The Cancer Center in Heidelberg alone had a budget of 47
million DM in 1976. This budget increased to 84.5 million DM in 1978. At
the same time, the expenses to treat cancer patients exceeded 3 billion DM.
In 1987, the pharmacological industry in Germany spent 3.7 billion DM to
research new cancer treatments and improve the existing ones.
Yet cancer is still a dilemma.
What is cancer?
Prodan Hristov agrees with Dr. Issels that cancer is a "general illness of
the constitution" and tumors are nothing more than "local displays of the
illness". General illness means that the constitution is predisposed or
prone to fall ill with cancer. The causes for tumor formation are numerous
and different. Some of these causes are the chemical substances we consume
with food due to the wide spread usage of fertilizers. Others are X-rays,
ultra-violet and atomic radiation.
All these factors react with the body's DNA, provoking mutations in the
genetic material, thus transforming healthy cells into cancerous ones.
During the last decades it has been widely discussed that viruses are a
main cause of cancer. Viruses carry in their genetic material so-called
oncogenes that can provoke malignant changes in otherwise healthy cells.
The mental stress people experience on an every-day basis and the damaged
environment are factors that additionally speed up the development of
cancer.
Standard medicine offers the following methods for treating cancer:
surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. It has been known that all of these
methods are far from perfect. For example, a lot of surgeries are performed
without the need of them, causing patient death and financial loss. Even
though technology has improved in the last decade, radiotherapy still
causes a lot of side effects. Burning and itching of the skin, hair loss,
breathing problems, vomiting, and diarrhea are only a few of them.
Unfortunately, these side effects often last a lifetime. Especially serious
are the side effects from chemotherapy. Cytostatic medications (medications
that prevent further growth of cells) are very toxic and, if not given in
proper dosage, can destroy not only the cancerous cells but the healthy
ones as well. The fatality of cytostatic medications and radiotherapy is
that they can cause cancer themselves.
Prodan Hristov is optimistic that a day will come when standard medicine
will work together with people like himself - those who have discovered
unconventional methods to cure this horrific disease. Let us hope that
bureaucracy, politics, and the greed for profit present in the medical and
pharmaceutical industries, will be put aside in favor of a method to stop
cancer. The cure for cancer is a fact. It is up to us not to lose it.
